What does Instrukt do?
Instrukt saves you and your team time so you can focus on what really makes a difference in growing your business. It eliminates the errors and headaches often associated with finding class subs. It makes sub requests easy so you can focus on what positively impacts the bottom line at your studio.  
 
With Instrukt you have better insight and awareness of all sub activity, without the effort of manually tracking it all. Reporting features allow you to look back and see who subbed and who requested subs in the past. 
 
For instructors it makes requesting subs easier and gives you more opportunity to pick up additional classes without spending so much time reading email. 
 
 
What studio management platforms does Instrukt work with?

Currently, Instrukt only integrates with MINDBODY. Your studio must use MINDBODY for class and instructor scheduling and the studio owner must create an owner account to sync with the studio's MINDBODY account before using Instrukt.

Setup

Should I pick ‘Owner’ or ‘Instructor’ during account setup?
For most users this will be pretty straight-forward. There are some cases, however, where there could be some debate.
 
Select ‘Studio Owner’ only if you plan to set up a new studio account on Instrukt.
 
If your studio’s MINDBODY account has already been connected to Instrukt by another owner, you should select ‘instructor’. 
 
If you are a co-owner or manager of a studio who needs owner account permissions but there is already an owner account for your studio, you can follow these steps. 
  1. Create an instructor account (if you do not already have one) here or in the app.
  2. The primary studio owner can contact us at support@instruktapp.com and request to add co-owner permissions to your instructor account. We will need the primary owner to provide us with the user name (email address) associated with the instructor account that is to be converted. 
 
I’ve downloaded Instrukt but I don’t see anything - now what?

If you are an instructor who’s downloaded Instrukt, you need the owner of your studio to create an account and get their studio account sync’d with MINDBODY. The studio owner or manager then needs to invite you to join their team on Instrukt. 

Instructors who have accepted their studio invite but do not see anything should ask their studio management to verify that their account setup is complete.

I have multiple locations with different MINDBODY siteIDs. How do I use Instrukt with all my locations?

If your different studio locations are set up under multiple MINDBODY siteIDs, you will need a separate Instrukt account for each siteID. When you have your studios setup under different siteIDs, you have separate MINDBODY data for each studio. 

During setup, create an owner account for each siteID. You will need to use an alternate email address for each account you setup. 

To access your Instrukt account for each studio, you will need to log out of one account and then log into the account for another location. 

I have managers at my studio who need to see sub request activity. Do you have manager accounts?
Owners do not yet have the ability to designate managers from the app. If you have managers or co-owners who need access to the same functionality you have as an owner, we can set that up for you. Contact us at support@instruktapp.com. You'll need to send the email from the email address you have associated with your owner account at your studio. 
 
Please send us the username (email associated with their instructor account) for each user you want setup as a manager.
 
If you want to revoke these permissions, you'll need to send us another email asking us to remove their permissions at your studio. 
 
In the future, you'll be able to select managers from within the app. 
My studio has more than one owner - what do we do?
If you have co-owners who need access to the same functionality you have as the primary owner, we can set that up for you. Contact us at support@instrucktapp.com. You'll need to send the email from the account you have associated with your Instrukt owner account. 
 
Before we can set up co-owners, they must have an instructor account to convert to an owner account. A new instructor account can be created here or in our app. 
 
 
 
Why do I only see a few class types when assigning class types to classes and instructors?
This happens because you have only set a few class types in your Studio Class Types setting

Why does an instructor not show up in the available subs list for a particular class?

There are a couple reasons an instructor might not show up as available. First, make sure the instructor has the correct class types set. If the class has two class types set, the instructor must also have those two class types set. An instructor can have more class types set than the class but they must have every class type that is set for the class. Second, the instructor might have a scheduling conflict. If an instructor is not on the schedule at your studio but still does not show up on the available list, it’s likely that they use Instrukt at another studio and they are teaching a class at another studio at that time. Instrukt considers instructors’ entire schedule when determining availability.

What happens when a sub for one of my classes decides they can no longer sub my class?
Instrukt considers any class you are originally assigned as the instructor as your responsibility until another instructor accepts a sub request. At that point the responsibility for teaching the class transfers to whomever has accepted your sub request. At this point they are considered the owner of that class session. If the instructor who accepted your sub request later determines they can no longer teach the class, Instrukt considers it their responsibility to find a sub for the class. Some studio owners may not look at it this way and will expect the original class instructor to find another sub. If this is the case at a studio you work for, follow these steps to find another sub. 
 
  1. You will see a sub request for your class. Accept the sub request. You will now be back to being the ‘owner’ of the class.
  2. Send out a new sub requests just like you would any other class.
  3. Wait for another instructor to accept the request. 
 
We’d love your feedback on this way of handling this scenario. If we get enough feedback supporting a different method, we might implement a setup option so owners can determine how Instrukt handles this scenario at their studio. 
An instructor no longer works at my studio. How do I remove them from my Instrukt team?

Instructors who no longer work at your studio should be 'unlinked'. This will break the link between their Instrukt account and their profile in your MINDBODY account. 

Unlinking Instructors 

I updated class instructor info in MINDBODY but the class still shows as “sub needed”

It’s best if you complete all sub requests using Instrukt, however, we realize there might be some cases where you need to manually change instructor info from within MINDBODY to fill an open request. When you make updates in MINDBODY, the changes will also be updated in Instrukt. 

How can I upgrade/downgrade or cancel my subscription?

Instructors

As an instructor, should I have a separate account for each studio where I teach?

No! To get the most benefit out of Instrukt, you should only have one account. As an instructor you can be invited to an unlimited number of studios with one instructor account. This way you’re always logged in at all studios and can immediately get notifications. With one account spanning multiple studios, Instrukt knows when you are teaching at one studio and, therefore, not available to sub at another. 

What to the colors in my schedule indicate?

Instrukt color codes your schedule view to make it easy to determine class and sub request status. This chart outlines the various colors an instructor will see in their schedule. 

I created a second account but now realize I should have only one. How can I fix it?

We're glad you've realized one instructor account is better than two. Here's what you need to do.

  1. Select the account you want to keep.
  2. Log in to the one you no longer wish to use. In the settings menu, tap on 'studio associations'. Select to 'leave' the studios you wish to move to the other account. 
  3. Log in to the account you want to keep. 
  4. Contact the studio owners who's studios you just left from your old account and ask them to re-invite you to their Instrukt team. They can send the invite email to any address. As long as you are logged into the account you want to keep when you accept the invite, your studio association will be correctly linked with the account you wish to keep. 
Can I update my email address for my account?

What happens when a sub for one of my classes decides they can no longer sub my class?

Why am I not getting push notifications for available classes?
First, verify you are seeing messages in your notifications list but not on your phone’s lock screen. This will confirm you are an eligible for a sub request. If the notification appears in the notifications list but you did not receive a push notification, go into your phone's notification settings and verify that you have not turned off notifications for Instrukt.
 
On apple devices, open your phone's settings menu, tap on ’Notifications’, scroll down to ‘Instrukt’, tap on Instrukt and verify notifications are turned on. 
 
On Android devices, open ‘settings’, tap on ‘Apps & notifications’, ‘App info’, select ‘Instrukt’, tap ‘App notifications’ and verify that notifications on turned on.

I’ve downloaded Instrukt but I don’t see anything - now what?

Until you receive an invite from a studio owner, you will receive a 'cannot find an invite' error when you log in to Instukt.
